Is ‘Rosewood’ season 2 renewal coming? Latest casting positive sign

While it could be many weeks before Fox officially announces a decision on their freshman series “Rosewood” starring Morris Chestnut, we’d say that the following bit of news is a positive sign.

Per Deadline, recent “Being Human” star Sam Huntington is going to join the cast as Mitchie Brickman, a private pathologist whose passion sometimes runneth over. His generosity is what forced him to go out of business in Pensacola. Huntington could end up becoming a series regular for a second season of the show, so this is something that you should keep in mind when hearing about this news.

Of course, we don’t see this as official confirmation that “Rosewood” is coming back, since Fox will probably wait and see how some of their remaining episodes fare. With that said, the show’s odds are pretty good given the poor performance of many other series across the board. “Sleepy Hollow” is likely done, “Minority Report” was canceled, and we’re not feeling great about the future of “Bones” at the moment. While “The X-Files” and “Lucifer” have been a nice little boost this winter, the former is never going to have a huge episode order again. “Scream Queens” has already been renewed, so that at least gives Fox one more utility player with a devoted following.

You will officially get a chance to figure out further the future of “Rosewood” later this spring; Fox has to make a decision for the most part on their shows by May, but it’s possible that they make some sort of formal announcement before then to keep from turning things into a mad scramble.
