‘The Walking Dead’ season 6 spoilers: ‘Justified’ alum Alicia Witt joins cast

Can you believe that we’re almost a week away from the return of “The Walking Dead” to TV? It’s been a long road to get here, but we’re certainly more than thrilled that we get to return to Alexandria and finally get a chance to see how in the world Rick Grimes makes it out of his current situation alive. The guy seems to have a lucky rabbit’s foot somewhere on him, since he really should be dead and buried by now.

Without spending too much time going down the rabbit hole that is the good fortune of Andrew Lincoln’s character, let’s go ahead and talk the latest casting news! Per her own Twitter account, Alicia Witt of “Justified” and “Nashville” fame is going to be a key player in some of what is coming up.

Unfortunately, that’s really all that is known right now. Witt did not comment further on what her role would be or when you’re going to get a chance to see her. Maybe this is a Negan situation where she turns up relatively close to the end, and then you’re stuck waiting until season 7 to see more of her in action!

It’s still nice to see how the new characters are starting to enter the world, and given how quickly people die, there could be some holes to fill before we really know it. Also, if the show visits places like the Hilltop Colony or shows us more of Negan’s group, there will be a need for more people here.
