‘Hawaii Five-0’ season 6 to get the Coldplay treatment

Hawaii -While there may not be a new “Hawaii Five-0” episode coming on the air this Friday, CBS still has quite a plan for you in honor of Coldplay performing the upcoming Super Bowl Halftime Show: For the upcoming February 12 installment, the band is going to have four separate songs from their new album “A Head Full of Dreams” play over the course of the hour.

Specifically, the songs that you can expect to hear in this episode include “Adventure Of A Lifetime,” “Amazing Day,” “Birds,” and “Everglow,” with some of those songs being familiar already to casual fans of the band. For diehard listeners, of course they already know all of them! This is hardly so much a showcase of all-new new Coldplay songs so much as it just is just a way to promote music that is already out there by tying it to an episode of the show.

Based on what executive producer Peter M. Lenkov had to say in a statement, we have to guess that it all worked out thematically:

“As we started writing the Valentine’s Day episode, that album basically became our soundtrack and we knew we wanted to use their music to illustrate what was happening with our Ohana. These songs were just a perfect fit.”

Before we get to the end of the episode, we’ll probably get a chance to judge this for ourselves. Let’s hope that it is fun, and full of a lot of spirit and romance. After all, these are the things that we expect to see for the most part from the series.
