Super Bowl 50: Lady Gaga to perform National Anthem

Super Bowl -Clearly, Super Bowl 50 is trying to up the star power in every way possible. They’ve already got a roster for halftime that includes Coldplay and Beyonce, and today it was announced that none other than Lady Gaga will perform the National Anthem before the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers hit the field.

This performance will more than likely be seen by more than 100 million people, which will make this possibly the most-watched moment of Gaga’s entire career. It also continues what is an extremely busy year so far for the entertainer. She is coming off of a Golden Globe win for “American Horror Story: Hotel,” and will be performing next at the Grammy Awards on February 15 as a tribute to David Bowie. She will also be on ABC at the end of the night in order to present at the Oscars, in which she was nominated.

We do certainly feel for Gaga at the moment, mostly because of the notion that this is the most intimidating opportunity that almost any singer can have. While you can get tons of respect and new fans if you nail the National Anthem, there are also plenty on social media waiting to rip you. Some will probably do it even if you hit every note perfectly, just because that’s why they have social-media accounts in the first place. Despite all of the scrutiny, the fact that the big game continues to book so much high-profile singers does prove that there is certainly still a demand.
