‘Billions’ episode 4 preview: Axe feels a sting; Chuck gets closer

“Billions” is starting to come together, and as we move closer and closer to the home stretch of the season, we imagine that Chuck is going to start to feel more and more like he’s making progress … and Axe is going to start to sweat. He’s been able to remain virtually unscathed by his standards so far, but could a traitor in the midst start to change things?

Showtime did not release much information on next week’s new episode in advance, but there are two key elements of the synopsis ahead worth considering: “Axe deals with a betrayal. Chuck learns the inner workings of Axe Capital.”

1. Obviously, the notion of a betrayal close to Axe is terrible news, especially since Chuck is after him to the extent that he is at the moment. Any one thing could turn the tide and continue his streak taking out the illegal operators of Wall Street.

2. Chuck learning the truth about Axe Capital could be that one thing … but we’ll have to wait and see if that turns out to be true.

The one thing that we would still be very concerned about if we were Chuck is his relationship with Wendy, but we’re still not entirely sure that he sees it. He loves her, and with that he of course does not want anything bad to happen to her. However, the longer that she continues to work with Axe, then the more likely it is for something bad to potentially happen to him.
