‘Black Sails’ season 4: Meet the latest series regular
How in the world are we already finding out news regarding series regulars for “Black Sails” season 4? It’s a simple answer as the show’s extended production cycle. This is one of the reasons why we tend to see the show renewed before the current season even premieres. It takes a big investment from the network in order to make this happen.
According to a new report from Deadline, here’s what we know now about the upcoming batch of episodes, which are set to premiere next year. David Wilmot is set to play Israel Hands, a known bounty hunter, over the course of the upcoming year. He has a history appearing on period pieces, with both “Ripper Street” and “The Tudors” being on his list of credits. It’s far too early to see how the show will interpret this character, but we are certainly interested in finding out.
“Black Sails” has certainly become quite the hit for Starz in the period of time in which it has been on the air, and in turn it has worked to effectively usher in a new era of great programming at the network. For example, both “Outlander” and “Power” have followed up the show, and they have made a formidable one-two-three punch that set the network up to launch even more great hits down the line.
Of course, new episodes of the pirate drama are going to continue airing Saturday nights at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time. We’ll have some additional news on the subject of the show soon!
