Monday night’s new episode of “The Bachelor” was of course followed by an all-new installment of “Bachelor Live,” and of course it was one of the most ridiculous ones that we’ve had a chance to see in some time. This is what happens when you have so much ground to cover!
Let’s just start here by saying that this was the funniest episode of the show to date, mostly because of the fact that Michelle Collins and Allison Williams were on the show. These two women were almost the perfect combination, and would play off of each other really well. Also, Michelle mixed it up with a Chris Brown joke while still being nice to the contestants on the show. This is what we want, “Bachelor Live”!
Some of the segments themselves were a little more mixed, largely because of the fact that all of the contestants still have this obvious fear in their eyes that something terrible is going to happen to them at almost any second if they say the wrong thing. Neither Ben Higgins nor Haley Ferguson said too much of anything, and they each just allowed the hosts to carry on most of the conversation.
At the moment, the show is living and breathing so much easier than it once did, but we do still have one overarching criticism that needs to be addressed moving forward for it to truly sing: Honor the history more! Doesn’t anyone else think that most of their past references are only from the past season or two? (Sure, we did get a brief Jason Mesnick shout-out in here.)
