‘Galavant’ season 2 finale spoilers: The battle for love, land, and laughter
After a long journey, everything is coming to a head on “Galavant” next week for its season 2 finale. There will be violence, romance, and of course plenty of comedy as all of the remaining characters meet on the battlefield for control of Valencia and everything in between.
What are the stakes? Galavant is entering this with a zombie army, Madalena now has control of dark magic, and Isabella has … well, she’s got people with cooking supplies. Wormwood, Gareth, and Madalena are the villains, whereas everyone else at this point is technically a hero. We’ve got synopses for the two episodes below courtesy of ABC, but we’ll warn you now that they give quite a bit away. Therefore, don’t keep reading unless you are okay with getting spoilers on the final two episodes.
“Battle of the Three Armies” – “In their war against Valencia, all hope seems lost for Isabella and the people of Hortensia until Galavant arrives with his zombie army. Meanwhile, Gareth abandons Madalena after he realizes that she betrayed him and is learning (and using) the Dark Dark Evil Way.”
“The One True King (to Unite Them All” – “Under Madalena and Wormwood’s spell, the zombie army revolt against Galavant and company, until Sid arrives with an unlikely army of his own. Galavant, Gareth, and Sid’s army battle the Zombies while Isabella fights Madalena. Meanwhile, Richard goes after Wormwood, who attacks Tad Cooper, which provokes Richard to perform a (nearly) heroic act. Elsewhere, Gareth tries to reason with Madalena, but she is driven to learn how to use her newly acquired dark magic. At the end of the day, who will get their happily ever after?”
Ultimately, the best thing that “Galavant” is doing here is not airing its finale against the Super Bowl. If nothing else, it has figured out a nice way to avoid that competition.
