‘The Flash’ season 2 spoilers: Speaking on the motivations of Zoom

Throughout the second season of “The Flash,” we have a chance to learn a thing or two about Zoom and how badly he wants to see The Flash die at his hand. However, he’s not just out to kill the hero, as he would have done that already; instead, he is toying with the crew at STAR Labs, using Harrison Wells in order to improve Barry’s speed to the point where he can eventually sap the most out of him.

While there is no doubt to us that he is a terrifying villain, at the same time there is quite a bit of ambiguity still about him. After all, we don’t even know who he is! Speaking to TVLine, show executive producer Andrew Kreisberg is not promising answers on this story just yet; with that said, he made it very clear that his dynamic with Tom Cavanagh’s character would eventually lead to us getting to learn more and more about who this character is and why he is doing what he is:

“We get a little bit more of his personality … and a little bit more about what he wants and why he wants it. All that is going to come to a, hopefully, very exciting head.”

The good news is that some of the cast now found out Zoom’s identity, which means that we’re probably going to get a chance to learn that a little bit later this season … but not too close to the finale. We’ll have a little bit of time to enjoy whoever it is behind the mask first.
