Saturday night’s new episode of “The Voice UK” will be here in just a matter of over 24 hours, and based on the sneak peek below, there’s quite a bit to look forward to.
There’s a wide array of performers hitting the stage and styles being sung, but in the preview you can get the tiniest of glimpses of one familiar face: Lydia Lucy. She was on “The X Factor” seasons ago, but failed to make it to the live shows. She’s obviously back for a shot at redemption here, and we’d be honestly shocked if her time on the rival series is even mentioned given that there is no real reason to do so. The BBC really likes to make this show its own thing.
So is it unfair by any means for someone like Lucy to get another shot? We know that some out there will probably have their qualms about there being very little in the way of undiscovered talent on these shows at this point, but the reality is just that there is now that the market is so tapped-out that finding people with virtually no show business experience is almost impossible with the exception of a few diamonds in the rough / people who are just now old enough to take part in such competitions.
At the end of the day, it’s all about for us seeing just how much someone like Lydia has improved since we last saw her, and if she is capable of winning the whole show now.
