‘The Flash’ season 2 spoilers: Could Iris West’s new boss cause some trouble?
The second season of “The Flash” is going to be returning to The CW on Tuesday, and for Iris West, we’re going to be seeing a few interesting developments in her life.
For once, Candice Patton’s character is going to have a new boss! Scott Evans (Tone Bell, “Truth Be Told”) is going to be the new man in charge at the Central City Picture News, and he’s not going to be on the same wavelength as her previous / deceased superior. Based on what executive producer Andrew Kreisberg teases in a new TVLine interview, he is going to do just about everything that he can in order to speak out against The Flash as a true hero to the city:
“It’s interesting, because [Scott] can’t stand The Flash … He thinks The Flash is a phony, and he has a great storyline about why he doesn’t believe in heroes anymore. So, whereas Iris has become a little bit like Lois Lane [as] The Flash’s biggest booster, her new editor is dedicated to taking some of the shine off”
The great news about this character is that his presence is going to allow for an opportunity to give her more story that is independent of many of the other careers, and we do want to see her shine on a career level. As for the pressure that his presence could put on her friendship / potential relationship with Barry someday. Given everything that these people have gone through since the beginning of the series, would something like a boss really stop the two from being close?
