‘America’s Got Talent’ will bring Howie Mandel, Mel B, Heidi Klum back for season 11

The full review -

Even though Howard Stern may have left “America’s Got Talent” following the show’s tenth season, clearly the NBC series is looking for as much consistency as possible from the rest of their judging panel. How else do you explain the news that Howie Mandel, Mel B, and Heidi Klum are all coming back for yet another season of the show?

The network announced the return of these judges today in a statement; alternative programming head Paul Telegdy had the following to say:

“Howie, Mel and Heidi have an undeniable chemistry together and bring unbridled energy to everything they do … We are very excited to bring them back along with Nick Cannon as host, and with the addition of creator Simon Cowell as a judge, the panel just got a little more interesting. We can’t wait for the new season to begin.”

For the most part, we’re glad that this trio will return, though the whole “Heidi hates comedians” bit is getting a little bit tired and makes it harder for a comic to actually win this show. Our other main concern at this point is Cowell, who has a tendency to say and do roughly the same thing on almost every show at this point. There was a time when he was considered edgy, but we haven’t seen him do anything that interesting on the British “X Factor” in a while. The thing we’re the most hopeful for is that Howie may choose to treat him in a way that is somewhat adversarial, and at least similar to the relationship between Simon and David Walliams on “Britain’s Got Talent.”
