‘The Flash’ season 2 spoilers: ‘Battlestar Galactica’ alum set to be Turtle

FlashIt’s interesting that we are only just now learning of a big guest star on next week’s new episode of “The Flash” (usually this information gets out much earlier), but we’re still rather happy to have it.

Today, Entertainment Weekly reports that “Battlestar Galactica” alum Aaron Douglas is going to be playing Turtle, a character (not from “Entourage”) who has the ability to slow time. Barry is working to get faster in order to defeat Zoom, and this character will make his efforts all the more challenging. While it seems almost counter-intuitive for Zoom to send a meta-human to Earth-1 who has the ability to make Barry’s job of improving his speed harder on him, that is precisely still what we are getting here. Maybe Zoom thinks that the skills Barry will pick up from fighting Turtle will make him better and faster in the long run, giving him some further speed force that he can sap out of his in the future. That is, after all, the ultimate goal.

Through most of the back half of this season the Zoom villain is going to be front and center. We’ll learn more about potentially how this character came to be such a force, and if there is any way for Barry to defeat him and for Harrison Wells to also get what he wants. We’ve already learned that this incarnation of the character is not exactly evil; he’s just trying to save his daughter, and helping Zoom to “fatten up” Barry with speed is one way to do that.
