‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ season 6, episode 7 review: Lisa Vanderpump questions everyone

RHOBH

This season of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” is still missing that fire that it used to have, and even though we like the new housewife, Erika Girardi, we find that she’s mostly just pushing her music on the show rather then adding anything new to the group. We are hoping that as she becomes more acquainted with the ladies that she will help bring the fire back to the show.

So what’s the good news from Tuesday’s new episode when it comes to her? Well, she did at least get to spend some more time in the spotlight, giving a little bit of “image counseling” in the Hamptons from none other than Bethenny Frankel. Yes, Bethenny, we remember that you sold the Skinnygirl line for more than $100 million and you’re uber-successful and all of that. It’s just that Erika couldn’t bother with anything that she had to say about her music videos or her brand, giving us a not-so-subtle reminder in confessionals that she wouldn’t tell Bethenny how to go off and make a good margarita mix.

While the Bethenny drama made for a few good moments here and there and it was nice to see that Yolanda Foster is on the mend, the real landmark of this episode was more watching Lisa Vanderpump go around and question everyone on pretty much everything. This included getting Eileen to uncomfortably open up on her time with Vinny on set, or asking more questions to Erika about her husband’s age. In the end, we do get where much of Lisa’s personality comes from: She’s inquisitive. We don’t really think of her as some sort of grand puppet-master or string-puller, mostly because we do not entirely see what the point in that would be. It’s not like she is getting information on things nobody knows about.

We just wish that as a whole, “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” had more substance. Save for a minute or two, this was a story full of fluff. Episode grade: C-.
