‘Shameless’ season 6, episode 1 video: Frank mourns Bianca in every way possible

“Shameless” has been on hiatus for quite some time, but the good news is that it is finally almost over! The show returns with new episodes on Sunday, and the sneak peek below makes one thing very clear: Frank Gallagher is still in mourning. However, at the same time he is making everyone else miserable at the same exact time. Hence, him wandering around wearing the armband, wanting to borrow money to light a candle in her honor, and also talking about her relentlessly.

This is part of what makes “Shameless” such an interesting and particularly strong show: It is funny even when it ultimately has no business at all being funny. We really should feel sorry for Frank, since he found the one thing that made him happy and it was taken from him. We do feel for him, but at the same time it’s also so easy to laugh at some of his antics from the perspective of Fiona and some of the other characters.

Eventually, we do think that Frank is going to find something else to focus on, mostly because this is what his character is. Sooner or later there will be something else for him to latch onto; hopefully, it is another reason for him to be happy.
