This certainly is not the casting news we expect to have for you today, but at the same exact time we’re rather thrilled that we have it! It’s gloriously unexpected, fun, and even if it is just a small cameo we feel like this is still going to be more than worthwhile.
According to a new report from Entertainment Weekly, frequent “Saturday Night Live” scene-stealer and fan favorite Leslie Jones is going to be playing a part on “The Blacklist” season 3, and will specifically be a woman who mistakes Raymond Reddington (James Spader) for someone from her spin class … and will proceed to “shamelessly” hit on him. This is all sorts of glorious. Jones is hysterically funny, Spader can do comedy very well, and we’d love to see him in a situation that even he could not anticipate. Typically, Red is the master of knowing what everyone is going to do at every single moment.
“The Blacklist” may need a little bit of humor after what it is going through with the Cabal. Next week’s new episode is going to conclude the arc of The Director, and by the time we make it through to the end of that, we could see the show in a very different place than what it was. This is going to be a very interesting situation to watch unfold.
We’re going to be back with more news on “The Blacklist” soon; here’s to hoping for some more surprising cameos coming our way…
