‘The Flash’ season 2 spoilers: ‘Potential Energy’ synopsis hints at Wally West, Patty in danger

When the previews first started to come out for the upcoming January 19 episode of “The Flash” entitled “Potential Energy,” there was one thing that was made very clear: Patty Spivot was in some very-real danger. She was seemingly captured by Zoom, and this could lead Barry to a complete crisis.

However, the official synopsis released by The CW gives no indication that Patty is in trouble; instead, a new meta-human is teased, and Barry has to try to figure out whether or not he is ready to tell Patty that he has a very famous alter-ego:

“Now that they’ve grown closer, Barry (Grant Gustin) considers telling Patty (guest star Shantel VanSanten) that he is The Flash. Meanwhile, Joe (Jesse L. Martin) and Iris (Candice Patton) try to get to know Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale), and the team hunts down a meta-human who can slow time itself.”

There is still no indication that the show plans to make Wally West into a speedster like he is in the comics, but we figure that this is something that we could see explored in the future much like we are going to get with Caitlin Snow and Killer Frost. At least we know that this is going to be coming at some point before the end of the season … even though it’s not clear whether or not this is the Earth-1 Caitlin or someone coming from another part of the multiverse.
