Even though the week of January 5 is really going to be the big one for the crossover between “Chicago Fire,” “Chicago Med,” and “Chicago PD,” there is still going to be a little bit of this coming the following week. This is according to some of the first details for “Knocked the Family Right Out,” the January 13 episode of “Chicago PD” that will feature none other than Steven R. McQueen’s Jimmy coming over for a chance to work alongside Voight.
Take a look at the official synopsis now:
“After a luxury condo is robbed, the team is shocked to learn that not only was the family fast asleep when the crime occurred, but their teenaged daughter was violated during the invasion as well. Voight (Jason Beghe) consults Jimmy (guest star Steven R. McQueen) from Firehouse 51 to confirm his suspicion that the family was knocked out by a powerful gas and Lindsay (Sophia Bush), Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer), Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins) and Ruzek (Patrick Flueger) go undercover to seek out the perpetrators. Meanwhile, Voight tries to help a former acquaintance get back on his feet and Platt (Amy Morton) and Mouch (guest star Christian Stolte) receive disappointing news regarding their upcoming wedding.”
Before we get to the end of the episode, we figure that answers will come for Platt and Mouch, and we’ll start to get some resolution to the home invasions. While we are getting the aforementioned crossover, this seems to be much more in the vein of some of the other classic one-off episodes of the show than anything that is going to carry over into subsequent weeks.
