CarterMatt Awards 2015 results: Candice Patton of ‘The Flash’ wins Underrated Actress

CM Awards -There have been several categories throughout the CarterMatt Awards so far that have proven to be rather competitive, with frequent lead changes and massive fan debates. However, there have also been some that remained pretty dominant from start to finish, with one person getting out in front early and staying there.

As the title indicates, the winner in this category was clear from the beginning as her fans rallied heavy support for their favorite.

Candice Patton of “The Flash” wins Underrated Actress.

There’s a lot to celebrate here when it comes to Patton and her work as Iris West. She gets to tackle some of the CW show’s most-poignant material, and she has to rely on her leadership, her intelligence, and her understanding of people to survive and help to protect Central City. She doesn’t have superpowers, and yet she has a role that few others can in getting people together and helping them see solutions that are sometimes right under their nose. This is a role that will only become more important as time goes on and she becomes more and more immersed not only in Central City Picture News, but also STAR Labs.

Before concluding, we do want to also give congratulations to some other nominees who fought hard campaigns. A late push by fans of “The Walking Dead” star Sonequa Martin-Green helped her land in second place, and there was a small margin between her and our third-place finisher, Katheryn Winnick of “Vikings.” These underrated categories are some of our personal favorite to do, mostly because these are people who are deserving of love and attention from awards shows, but rarely ever receive it.
