‘The Voice UK’ video: Season 5 promo all about style

Voice UK -

For its upcoming fifth season on the air, “The Voice UK” has clearly decided to try and highlight the individual style of some of their coaches … at least for the launch trailer. We have a hard time imagining that this is actually what they will look like when the show itself airs. The first promo for the series below is all about individuality, and trying to figure out a proper way to have a chair that reflects their personality.

As you would expect, will.i.am looks like he is now capturing some sort of odd spaceship that he is not going to be able to climb out of, Boy George has an elaborate throne, and Paloma Faith adorned hers with feathers and frills. Meanwhile, Ricky Wilson looks to have just stuck a bow tie on his to go along with a drink.

Faith and Boy George are the newcomers this season replacing Rita Ora and Sir Tom Jones, and they have their work cut out for them. Rita and Tom were entertaining, and they were also enormously popular with specific demographics.

Perhaps more so than this, our concern for this show going into the January 9 launch is simply that this is the last season for the show airing on BBC One. Therefore, is there going to be much of an incentive for the network to really hype this up, knowing full well that it is going to rival ITV next year? We don’t want to see the show suffer as some sort of result of the move.
