‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ season 6, episode 5 review: Yolanda Foster gathers intel

RHOBH

The moment you have all been waiting for on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” Tuesday night: Erika Girardi finally meeting some of the other women! Okay, we’re kidding: It really wasn’t that exciting beyond her and Lisa Vanderpump getting along okay in the early morning.

This season has so far been a snooze, mostly because we’ve got few characters with very little to do other than everything going on with Yolanda Foster. The past two episodes have in particular felt like telephone, with information slowly being passed around to the point where at least now Yolanda realizes that Lisa Rinna and others have at least gossiped about the validity of her Lyme disease diagnosis. What she did with this was interesting, though, and very different than the whole Brooks debacle from the “Orange County” series earlier this year. Rather than make a huge mess of it immediately, she decided to focus instead on her upcoming operation to get some implants removed.

Yolanda’s conversation with her children was an interesting dichotomy. From one vantage point, she acts as though everything is all right. Then, she’s passing around her will and making sure everyone is cared for. It’s a moment of vulnerability and understanding that things can go wrong.

Elsewhere, we paid a visit to Eileen Davidson on set, and Kyle Richards had a few fun confessional moments. We just wish that at least one of the other women besides Yolanda had something particularly interesting or different going on. We’re only five episodes into season 6, and it desperately needs some sort of a spark. Grade: C-.
