Miss Universe 2015: Ariadna Gutierrez, Pia Wurtzbach react to controversy

Miss Universe -We are still in many ways sifting through the controversy that befell the 2015 Miss Universe Pageant on Sunday night, but the two women at the center of it seem to want you to know one thing: They are each doing what they can in order to move on.

In the first video below, you can see Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez make it clear that “everything happens for a reason,” ans she is going to move on even though she only had a chance to wear the sash and the crown for a few seconds. The fact that it took a minute or two for Steve Harvey’s mistake to be corrected and the crown handed to the right winner in Miss Philippines Pia Wurtzbach should serve as evidence that these pageants are not even remotely rigged. Everyone legitimately thought that Colombia was the winner!

The second video features Wurtzbach reacting to all of the controversy, calling the mistake something that was very current to 2015. She’s right: This is certainly a crazy year where almost anything could happen. While we’re sure she would have rather the crowning happened in a very different way, her victory is going to be a huge thing for the Philippines, a country who has a devoted following for Miss Universe and will greatly appreciate having her as a representative. They’ve also historically done very well in these pageants over the years.

Now that all of this has been said, we firmly expect everything to die down over the next few weeks.

If you head over here, you can see right now what former pageant owner Donald Trump had to say about all of the hoopla … just in case you are curious.
