‘Survivor’ season 32: What to expect from tonight’s announcement

Jeff Probst -

How in the world do you follow up “Survivor Cambodia: Second Chance” We certainly feel for Jeff Probst and the other executive producers as they have to deal with those expectations going into the new year.

The first thing worth noting about season 32 is that in many ways, it was actually season 31 in the production cycle. This season filmed in the spring, months before the cast of “Cambodia” went out there. The casting twist is the main reason why we saw the seasons flipped; otherwise, this would have been filmed this summer and “Second Chance” would have been in March or April. By the time this show premieres on February 17, almost a year will have gone by since filming began.

In terms of setting, we’re also sticking in Cambodia. Expect a different name, but the filming location was roughly the same. “Survivor: Gabon” and “Survivor: Tocantins” were the last two seasons filmed in separate locations in the fall and the spring.

While we know that there are some details out there about the theme and even some of the cast already, we’re going to try to keep CarterMatt as spoiler-free as possible on much of that. Let’s just say that if you follow sports and/or reality TV, there will probably be at least one name on the list that is familiar to you already.
