Is ‘The Flash’ season 2, episode 10 new tonight on The CW?

Last week, “The Flash” had an ending that was a little more emotional than something that you would necessarily consider a giant “shocker”: Harrison Wells agreed to help Zoom improve Barry Allen’s speed, thinking that this was the only way that he would get to see his daughter again. (Zoom wants to defeat him when his skills are the most advanced, since he will be able to siphon the most Speed Force from him possible in this state.

Unfortunately, you’ll be waiting for a while to see what happens next. The series is returning to The CW on Tuesday, January 19, and when it does come back Barry Allen may not even be aware of what Zoom is up to in order to stop him. Instead, his attention may be focused more on getting to know Wally West, who has arrived in Central City and has revealed himself to his father Joe and sister Iris.

Anyone who has read the comic-book series before now probably is very familiar with some of Wally’s powers there, but there is no indication at the moment that some of these powers are going to translate over to this show. That’s a familiar situation for many of these characters.

Given that speed is one of the themes of this series, there is ironically still going to be somewhat of a slow burn when it comes to the story coming up the rest of the season. Don’t expect the show to get into much of a hurry revealing who Zoom truly is, just like you shouldn’t expect them to give anyone else powers overnight.
