‘The Bachelor’ spotlight: Will Breanne Rice find find sunny skies with Ben Higgins?
In looking at Breanne Rice on paper as a “Bachelor” contestant, she’s someone who catches our eye. She has an interesting background and a story to tell; if Ben Higgins is really out to meet interesting people, she’s probably up there on the list. With that being said, there are also are a few things about her that give us pause, and make us wonder if she really is the right contender for this particular guy.
We’re not going to drag this out; check out our quick take on Breanne below! (Just so you know, there are no spoilers ahead.)
Age – 30
Occupation – Nutritional therapist. After learning that she had an autoimmune disease in vitiligo, she began a path that led her down trying to help other people obtain better digestive health.
Hometown – Seattle, Washington. Interestingly she says that she loves sunshine, but is from one of the rainiest places known to mankind.
Things to know – She has many food allergies, and that may make some of the day-to-day life in the house rather different compared to the other women. She’s also social-media savvy, pretty driven, and is unafraid of taking risks and visiting new places. (She mentions specifically a trip she took to New York by herself for her 30th birthday.)
Strengths – If Ben wants someone who already knows what they want from their life, Breanne could be that for him! She already has a career hammered out that feels almost like a calling, and she’s also going to encourage Ben to be healthy. Isn’t that good?
Problem areas – Given that Breanne’s business is in part about getting the worst out (she has also done some TV appearances in the past), you do have to acknowledge that she is getting something out of this show other than love. We could also see her being somewhat of a polarizing figure in the house. She’s pretty confident in herself, and we could see her getting frustrated by people who are being somewhat vapid or superficial.
Prediction – We certainly expect Breanne to get a pre-taped package on premiere night, but we don’t think that we see her lasting more than a few weeks. Given what we can read right now off of her personality, we just don’t think this is the sort of environment where she can truly shine as much as getting to know someone individually.
