‘Arrow’ season 4 spoilers: Will anyone else learn about Oliver’s secret?

At the moment within the world of “Arrow,” there are only three living people who seem to know that William is Oliver Queen’s son. One of those people is the child’s mother Samantha, another is Oliver, and the third is Barry Allen … and you’re not going to see him that much beyond just a few crossover cameos here and there.

As it turns out, someone else is going to be in the know about this secret at some point in the near future, and it may not be Felicity Smoak judging by what showrunner Marc Guggenheim said to TVInsider:

“[There] will be another character who finds out about the child and Samantha’s ultimatum, andthey will make the argument that Oliver really didn’t have a choice but to honor that promise. We’re going to do a whole episode about the virtues of the truth…it’s not always the best thing. But that is this show. Killings, secret keeping, ethical dilemmas, broken promises. We deal with the moral grey.”

Granted, there’s always a chance that Felicity is dead following the events of the winter finale, but as we said in analyzing the promo for the show’s January 20 return, we doubt it. With this secret still hanging over her relationship with Oliver, it’s hard to imagine the show wanting to get rid of her before the two really deal with what is going on behind her back. Based on what we’ve heard to date, there will be major conflict coming for the two of them at some point in the second half of the season.

Hopefully, there will be some more news when it comes to Oliver’s kid, and potential tension with Felicity over it, in the near future!
