‘The X Factor’ UK: Why, and how, did 4th Impact get eliminated?
This past weekend on “The X Factor” was probably a stunning one for many international viewer, just as it was a stunning one for us. Some of the bookies were actually right for a change, and there were many smoke and mirrors surrounding the local popularity of 4th Impact in the UK.
How did the girl group get eliminated from the show before the final four? There are many contributing factors at play here, so we thought this would be a fun subject to dive into today.
1. Misleading popularity – If this show was one that allowed international votes, then there’s no doubt they would still be there. The girl group hails from the Philippines, and they have routinely dominated polls on CarterMatt thanks to readers from all over the world. The problem is that the majority of these people can’t vote on the show, and that’s not going to change. “The X Factor” would undermine other versions of the show if it opened up the voting lines everywhere.
2. Poor placement – We’re not one of those conspiracy junkies who claim that the fix is in, but we do also think that the show this season has its favorites. Louisa Johnson in particular has been heavily touted, and got a chance to both open and close the show while 4th Impact was in a less desirable spot. For the past couple of weeks, they haven’t performed in the best places in the show.
3. Che Chesterman gets a life raft – Maybe being in the bottom two mobilized Che’s fans to help him, or maybe people felt sorry for him after botching the Adele song. Either way, he got a second life this past weekend when we think he would have lost against 4th Impact in the bottom two.
4. The rise of Reggie ‘n Bollie – In this case, it’s more about what another act did right than what 4th Impact did wrong. While these guys are not anywhere near as good of singers, they have a ton of personality and have been in the right place at the right time. Sometimes, it is all about giving the public what they want, and with so many serious things happening in the world their brand of fun is being embraced.

The fact that Reggie and Bollie can’t even sing in tune, ever, and sing the same song every week, or at least that is the way it sounds, it is a sin that 4th impact is gone. There were 5 acts left and Reggie and Billie are not even in the same league as the other four.In my opinion this is far and away the best season of X Factor ever. Che, Louisa, Lauren and 4th Impact are better than virtually all past winners save Leona. And of course the best her season, eliminated 6th, was Ella Henderson.
The fact is no foreign act has ever won the show and will likely never will has a lot to do with it. I get that. I think this is the sole reason they left not the controversies. I think when the VT showed the girls talking to that reporter on Skype in their native tongue it reminded people they are not English. But 4th Impact should have made the finals at least. I do believe this show has changed their lives and they will be signed. I look forward to their career.
It is a shame I will miss 4th Impact terribly.I hope they get a deal and tour in the US so I can go see them. But at least there are three great contestants left. I think Lauren is a great singer with a Stacy Solomon quality. Che is a really good singer with a sweetness people can relate to. Louisa is the full package and could enjoy Ella Henderson success. But if any of them go be fore R&B it will be a disaster.

I think the reason for the drop in votes, could well be down to the over reaction from last week between 4th impact and lauren…unfortuntatly some viewers took things way to far on social media which unfortuntley reflected badly on the girls. Which did’nt help the girls or even lauren for both of them to be in the bottom 2. Which is a huge shame as i love 4th impact. But i just hope that all fans now can support the girls in there next step in there life. And stop the hate. Remember these girls need the support of the british public to sell there records in the UK and to help them to hopefully get a recording contract.
