Is ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 12, episode 9 new tonight? Also, Kate Walsh not interested in return

Grey's AnatomyIn our latest of what appears to be a series of Thanksgiving hodgepodge stories today, let’s talk “Grey’s Anatomy” by beginning with scheduling news: There’s no new episode tonight. As a matter of fact, the series is done on ABC until February 11, when it turns with “The Sound of Silence.” This is poised to be one of the most star-studded installments of the show to date, as evidenced by the fact that they have Denzel Washington on board to direct. What’s more awesome than that?

As we start to get deeper into the series’ run and more and more questions arise on the future of the show, you do have to wonder just how many times the writers will want to dip into the past. For example, Cristina is still out there in the world, and while we’re probably never seeing Katherine Heigl again, Izzie was at least referenced in a story with Joe.

So what about Addison? She obviously had a history with Derek, and it probably would’ve made more sense for her to turn up last season than at this point. Really, the only person she has an enormous history with on the show is Amelia stemming from “Private Practice.”

Well, it doesn’t look as though Kate Walsh has any interest in coming back; speaking per HollywoodLife, she makes her thoughts on the subject clear:

“I love [Shonda Rhimes] and we’re tight, and we definitely want to work together again. But I just feel like I played Addison, and I’m so happy fans love that character and it’s so memorable. It was a great role for me to play — I’m happy and grateful and thrilled that I got to do it, but I did it for 9 years, so for me, just as an actress, it’s important to move on. So that’s what I’m focused on. I’m looking for the next thing I want to do. I’m looking to do a play in New York. I’m looking to do the next series. And that’s sort of where I’m at with it. But again, I’m thrilled people loved it and she became such an iconic character.”
