‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5, episode 10 video: Captain Hook challenges Rumpelstiltskin to a duel

Clearly, it is not going to take altogether long before “Once Upon a Time” shows you the darker side of Captain Hook … or we should say, bringing back the darker side of him. It’s been a while since we’ve seen Colin O’Donoghue’s character go full evil, but this is what happens when he finds out that he is carrying the Dark One within him.

Do we still have questions regarding just how having the soul of the Dark One works? Definitely, and mostly because of the fact that Hook seemed to be perfectly fine before Emma told him the truth about what happened to him. Therefore, we wonder whether or not there is a part of this that is psychological more so than anything else.

The sneak peek below comes to us via TV Guide, and it features Hook doing more or less the same exact thing that we expected from him given what has transpired with him: He wants retribution, and of course he wants it from Rumpelstiltskin. This is his chance for revenge, and he is going to do everything that he can in order to get it.

Of course, this is a victory for Dark Hook that is far from guaranteed. What he’s forgetting here is that Rumple is wily, and somehow he is often able to survive impossible odds. He’s also adopted the persona of a hero after all of the training that he’s been through.
