NBC’s ‘The Voice’ rankings: Jordan Smith, Jeffery Austin, Barrett Baber compete entering top 11

Voice -The Voice” season 9 is in the home stretch, and we wish we could say that we’re gearing up for an unpredictable finish. We’re really not, so why not enjoy the journey ahead for what it is? What we can really hope for here is that the level of singing right now inspires everyone to try to do better and better, therefore by the time we make it to the end of the season our jaw is perpetually on the floor in awe of what some of these people are doing.

So while there is a clear favorite, we’re still going to continue to rank all of the remaining contenders on the basis of performance quality, edit, voting history, and of course iTunes sales.

11. Korin Bukowski (last week: 9) – We cannot ignore results at this point. She needed the Save from America to stick around, and we really don’t think we’ve seen what we were hoping to from her in the live shows over the past two weeks.

10. Braiden Sunshine (11) – We don’t have that much hope for two of Gwen Stefani’s team members clearly. We feel like Braiden’s a nice, likable kid, but there’s something about him on the stage still that feels very much like a talent show. He really still needs that time to build life experience and have his voice develop.

9. Evan McKeel (7) – Evan’s talent is probably higher than this ranking shows, but it feels a little like he is getting lost in the shuffle of this competition somewhat at this point. The guy needs a big moment.

8. Emily Ann Roberts (11) – She’s probably the most vulnerable of Blake Shelton’s three country artists, but the reality here is that we still feel like she could be safe for a little while just because of that support base.

7. Shelby Brown (7) – Shelby’s consistently solid, and while it would be fun to see her take down some of Blake’s people, we don’t really see it happening on a grand scale.

6. Madi Davis (4) – We were a little disappointed with her iTunes sales this past week, and hopefully this causes her and Pharrell to really focus in and figure out just how it is that they can really endear her in the eyes of many voters. She is worthy of that next level; we just have to figure out how to get her there.

5. Amy Vachal (8) – Amy’s “Hotline Bling” was really popular on iTunes this past week! While we didn’t love it so much, the public has spoken and this was her moment. We definitely love the creativity and innovation behind it.

4. Zach Seabaugh (5) – Once again, the public is speaking on Zach. He’s right in the perfect wheelhouse for this show as a young, male country singer who can do older songs and new hits in the genre.

3. Jeffery Austin (3) – We’re a little biased towards Jeffery because we’ve loved virtually everything that he has done all season, but the odds are still a little stacked against him. He’s up against two other titans when it comes to fan support and iTunes votes, and he is going to have to kill it every week to have a shot.

2. Barrett Baber (2) – He’s basically an older version of Zach was more of a story and history behind him. He’s a vote magnet, a good singer, and a seasoned performer. Blake and Barrett have the next few weeks on lock.

1. Jordan Smith (1) – There’s probably not going to be a change here for the rest of the season unless something crazy happens. He is far and away the most popular contestant on iTunes and social media right now of the group. He’s likable, humble, and has a great mentor in Adam Levine.
