‘The Flash’ season 2 spoilers: Wally West to appear in winter finale

While we in many ways anticipated the winter finale of “The Flash” being one that featured the Big Bad of the season in Zoom, apparently the show wants to keep us perpetually on our toes. How else do you explain the fact that he is not even mentioned in the synopsis below for “Running to Stand Still”? Rather than make this the clearest reflection of the season 1 finale, which was all about capturing and identifying the Reverse Flash, the show is going in a new direction here and bringing back some old favorites. There’ll still be plenty of time for Zoom in the new year.

“When Mark Mardon AKA The Weather Wizard (guest star Liam McIntyre) returns to break Leonard Snart AKA Captain Cold (guest star Wentworth Miller) and James Jesse AKA The Trickster (guest star Mark Hamill) out of Iron Heights, Barry (Grant Gustin) must stop these rogues from taking over Central City during Christmas. Meanwhile, Joe (Jesse L. Martin) and Iris (Candice Patton) meet Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale).”

Wally West is going to be a significant part of the show moving forward, so it’s best that you go ahead and wipe away any preconceived notion that this is just a quick one-off story, and you are not going to be seeing much of him in the second half. We don’t have any clue how he fits into the show, but we’re going to at least give the producers a little bit of faith here given that they have not done us wrong so far. Isn’t that a great start?
