‘The Flash’ season 2 spoilers: Could Barry Allen meet Earth-2 version of himself?

There have been many rumors out there speculating about who the Earth-2 version of Barry Allen could be on “The Flash,” with us having a variety of theories ourselves. Our personal favorite? That Henry Allen is Zoom, and that the Barry in this world is the imprisoned one we saw in the Singularity during the season 1 finale. It would continue the trend of fathers becoming heroes over their songs, given that we’ve already learned that the Earth-2 version of Oliver Queen died on his way to the island, while his father Robert ended up becoming a vigilante.

Of course, there is zero incentive right now for the show to tell us one way or another as to whether or not Barry is Zoom, or even if we are going to see the characters visit Earth-2 at some point. Right now, the prevailing wisdom is simply that it is likely. This is something that Grant Gustin commented on in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, where he passed along the following message:

“It sounds like we’re going to be making an Earth-Two trip in the future at some point this season … I don’t know which characters are going to be going. I’m pretty sure Barry will be one of them. I don’t know if we’re going to see his doppelgänger when we go over there. I’d imagine we would.”

We certainly feel like it’s certain, as well, given that this may be the only way to really uncover Zoom’s origins. It is already pretty clear that this is going to be a very hard villain to unmask thanks to how easily he can escape tricky situations.
