‘Survivor Cambodia: Second Chance’ episode 9 preview: The hidden immunity idol mad dash
Is there another hidden immunity idol entering the game on “Survivor Cambodia: Second Chance“? Based on the preview that aired after Wednesday night’s new episode of the show, it feels easy to answer that question with a “yes.”
So why release an idol when there is already one in the game? Part of it is probably due to there still being eleven people left; if the numbers were lower, the producers would probably go in a different direction. Also, if there wasn’t one played at camp, we imagine that there would be suspicion about someone already having one. Nobody wants that.
As for other possible advantages, the preview also teased that Jeff Probst is going to offer an “advantage” to someone who jumps off during the next immunity challenge. Our gut feeling is that this is the return of the Extra Vote Advantage that Dan Foley got last season. It’s a nice thing to have, but if you are in a huge minority, it really doesn’t matter. Ciera, Abi-Maria, and Kelley Wentworth have to figure out a way to get at least three more numbers on their side to stick around, and with that, they better hope that Joe loses immunity. If he does, we could finally be looking at a situation where he gets eliminated … and Jeremy then starts to worry about the number of alpha males left in the season.
We ultimately have no clue where in the world this season is going to go, and as a result of it, we’re loving this season. There are few feelings quite like knowing that someone has played an immunity idol, and you’re waiting to see who’s going to get blindsided. It stinks for Savage, but it was great to dive into and enjoy as a viewer.
