‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 9, episode 8 spoilers: ‘The Mystery Date Observation’ details

“The Big Bang Theory” has hinted already that Amy is starting to dive more and more into the dating world. So when is that going to start hitting a peak? Think along the lines of Thursday night’s new episode entitled “The Mystery Date Observation.” It turns out that Mayim Bialik’s character wants to remain somewhat secretive about who she is out with, and given the nature of some of the other characters on the show, can you be even remotely surprised that this makes them curious?

CBS has finally released the synopsis for this episode, and you can take a look at it below:

“Sheldon, Wolowitz and Koothrappali post an online advertisement to find Sheldon a new girlfriend. Also, when Amy is coy with details about a guy she is dating, Penny and Bernadette decide to spy, on THE BIG BANG THEORY, Thursday, Nov. 12 (8:00-8:31 PM, ET/PT), on the CBS Television Network. Stephen Merchant guest stars as the mystery man, Dave, and Analeigh Tipton guest stars as Vanessa.”

Could this episode somehow put us in a position where Amy and Sheldon are closer to getting together? It’s possible. We at least predicted in our CarterMatt TV Podcast earlier today that this story will probably be resolved by the end of the season. We just hope that they are not paired up again too quickly, since that would detract from some of the personal growth that Sheldon needs to in order to appreciate Amy in the way in which he should.
