‘Chicago Fire’ season 4, episode 5 preview: Boden stands up for Dawson

Tuesday night’s “Chicago Fire” is going to be an emotional one, but through it all you may get quite a few reminders of one simple thing: How awesome of a guy Chief Boden is, and how supportive he is to the people within Firehouse 51. He is even willing to stand up to other people in the Department if it means making sure other members of the team feel safe and secure.

In the sneak peek below, you can see Boden making it very clear that he is more than fine to go toe-to-toe against Riddle, who is being more than a little bit disrespectful to Dawson as she tries to integrate herself once more into the Firehouse. Specifically, he brings up her losing the baby, one of the worst things that you can possibly do to someone in her situation.

Ultimately, we feel like the battle between Boden and Riddle could get particular intense, as it is clear that there is one issue at the center of the dispute: A wedding. Whose wedding is it? While we’d love for it to be Dawson and Casey’s, we are not ready to jump to any big conclusions here. For now, let’s just say that this is an episode we are excited to see, since it could mark a good leap forward for Firehouse 51 as a family.

Also, anytime that we get a lot of Boden is a time to celebrate in general. Consistently, he is one of the show’s most interesting, multifaceted characters.
