‘The Walking Dead’ season 6, episode 4 preview: Is this the old or the new Morgan?

The Walking Dead

Sunday night’s new episode of “The Walking Dead” is one that will probably produce a wide range of different reactions. There is of course a great deal of excitement about seeing an episode all about Morgan, but at the same time, there is also quite a bit of frustration that this episode is coming right after what happened to Glenn.

Even though Sunday night’s installment is going to be running for a full 90 minutes (!), there’s a good chance that you do not see Steven Yeun in it, and the same goes for Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, and many other members of the cast. It’s possible that Lennie James anchors the entirety of the story, since we have to see the evolution of who he was in “Clear” moving into the man we see during the present day in Alexandria. He’s no longer anywhere near as ruthless as he once was, and has adopted a much more peaceful mantra.

Below, the Morgan that we see is much more the violet Morgan. He’s brutal, but he has to be. He’s also completely alone. We have to imagine that we’re going to be seeing at least someone else surface in this installment before the end of it, since the idea of him making it through wandering in the woods may be a little hard to follow. Guy has to sleep at some point.

If nothing else, this episode should prove useful in tying together his story. Also, we love James. This may be one of the best showcases we get of him as a performer during the entire series so far.
