‘Shiptober: Should ‘Scandal’ season 5 lead to more Huck – Quinn romance?
Mrs. Carter: Is there hope for more than one prospective couple on “Scandal“?
We know that we have spent the majority of the time here at CarterMatt all about Fitz and Olivia, they’re not the only people that have an expansive fan base. Huck and Quinn may be the most dysfunctional pair in history. He’s tortured her, she’s shown a mean streak of her own, and they’ve proven time and time again that they’re violent, haunted, and broken. Yet, maybe they have enough in common to actually be there for each other in the end.
Is it possible that these two could ever become a thing, or are they set to be forever this hot-and-cold relationship that comes out of extreme emotion? We’re going to take a look at both sides.
The case for Huck and Quinn – The easiest argument you can make here is that we’re not quite sure that they would work with anyone other than each other. Sure, they each have had past partners, but no one is able to understand each other like them. Quinn has inside knowledge on Huck’s motives, and when things are good for them, they’re more passionate than almost any other relationship that you’ll ever see.
Also, with Olivia and Fitz now together, is it possible that you want to set up another will-they-or-won’t-they relationship in the near future? This could be it.
The case against them – If this was more or less any other show, we’d say that Quinn should stay far away from this guy. He has love in his heart, but he also has pain and violence. He’s fiercely loyal, and Quinn is not always #1 on his loyalty board. That’s problematic for any relationship, but you then add to it the fact that they have extreme circumstances and stress constantly weighing down on them. We’re not sure that anyone knows what to do with them at the moment, other than just help Olivia get out of her present (and extremely messy) situation.
Ultimately, we don’t think “Scandal” is going anywhere in the near future. Therefore, we don’t expect answers to come on these two this season. It could be another year or two before we start to figure out if they can make it work.
