NBC’s ‘The Voice’: Cee Lo Green wants to return for future season

VoiceIt’s clear that at this point, “The Voice” has moved on from Cee Lo Green. The “Forget You” singer was one of the original coaches, and appeared on multiple seasons over the years. However, everything changed to him following charges of drugging a woman back in 2012. The incident and some of his later comments on the subject caused NBC to take a major step away from the singer, and while he has not been wiped from the show’s memory, he has not appeared as a full-time coach ever sense.

Is this something that Green wants to do again? It sounds like it, based on some of his comments in a recent interview with the Associated Press:

“I’ve talked very possibly about doing ‘The Voice’ again … So I just kind of put that out there, wishful thinking, kind of willing it. Because I would love to do it again.”

As for whether or not NBC would want this to happen, that is an entirely different story. In addition to his past, one of the biggest reasons that they may decide against this is simply that they have a good thing going now with their current panel. Pharrell Williams is more or less now a full-time coach alongside Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. We figure the more likely scenario for Cee Lo is that he returns as an adviser for someone.

Green also apologized in the interview for some of his past actions and comments:

“I’m so grateful that…everyone who just may happen to witness this particular interview, have my deepest, sincerest apologies for any inconvenience, any ignorance, any ill will, anything. I’m just glad that it’s behind me now. I’m so glad for it.”
