‘The Flash’ season 2 spoilers: Candice Patton on Christmas Special, family focus, familiar villains

Christmas time in coming in Central City. For those of you who love Christmas Specials, be prepared to rejoice in the fact that we’re going to have a rather nice one coming up this season on “The Flash.” There will be opportunities to smile, just as you are also going to have a few opportunities to see some familiar foes. Word on the street is that this may also be the one that features the return of Mark Hamill as James Jesse, right around the time that “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is making a gazillion dollars at the box office.

There were recently some reporters invited to the show’s set in Vancouver, and speaking per ComicBook.com, none other than Iris West herself in Candice Patton had a lot to say about this story:

“What does Christmas have in store for Iris this episode? I mean, it’s a lot about family. Which is a big plot point for Iris this season. That’s really exciting. Other than that I don’t know that there’s much more I can say. We see some … A reappearance of some rogues from the past that we know very well. It’s a good Christmas episode. Just like the last one. Good villain, and good love, and good heart.”

By the time this episode airs, we may get a sense of what context surrounds the return of the Trickster, and also whether or not we will have more of a full-fledged appearance by Zoom. While the show has cast an actor for his voice so far, it has not been revealed just yet who will be playing the character himself. This will in part be an exciting mystery that should really be revealed before the midway point of the season … provided that Zoom is not a version of someone we already know from another world.
