‘The Bastard Executioner’ episode 8 preview: A long wait for ‘Broken Things / Pethau Toredig’

TBXThe good news for fans of FX’s “The Bastard Executioner” is that there are still three more episodes before season 1 comes to a close … and that may be the conclusion of said good news. The bad news is that there is no new episode next week, and that is a terrible thing when you think about how Tuesday’s episode is wrapping things up. Wilkin Brattle is starting to come clean in order to feel some sort of heroism in his heart, but is it too late for him? Did he wait too long before allowing the truth to set him free?

Unfortunately, we cannot offer up much of a reason why FX is going with a repeat next week other than that they want to air a marathon of “The Twilight Saga” in honor of it being the week before Halloween. That’s somewhat depressing, no? Thanks to it being such a long wait, all we can say is that the next episode is entitled “Broken Things / Pethau Toredig,” and it is being penned by Ryan Scott and show creator Kurt Sutter.

Thanks to the long wait, we don’t have much in the way of a synopsis or further details just yet … but we do hope that Wilkin gets a chance for further redemption, and we start to understand what’s going on better with him and Jessamy.
