‘Arrow’ season 4 spoilers: John Barrowman teases Malcolm Merlyn’s future

Arrow -Malcolm Merlyn is returning on the upcoming fourth season of “Arrow,” and suffice it to say, this is going to be quite an event. We’re going to get an introduction to what Nanda Parbat is like with him running it, and to go along with that, we’ll see what the complicated dynamic is now with him and Nyssa al Ghul … let alone him and his daughter Thea.

While John Barrowman is clearly going to have some great material coming up courtesy of the Lazarus Pit and what will happen to Sara Lance as a result of being revived, we know that everyone is going to wonder whether or not he will get himself involved with Damien Darhk and everything going on in Star City. Based on what the actor had to say in a recent chat with TVLine, it is certainly possible:

“Malcolm is Ra’s al Ghul now, he can do whatever he likes! Malcolm’s been watching what’s going on, he knows that Damien Darhk is causing havoc, he knows that it’s getting close to harming his daughter and it’s also getting close to harming the man out there that he always wanted his son to be like, Oliver. Malcolm’s just waiting for that right moment, either to be asked or to step in — and when one of those moments happens, again the audience is going to go, ‘Oh my God, there he is!’ … I can’t tell you what’s going to happen, but Malcolm will always be there when they need help.”

The great thing about Malcolm as a character is that you never know 100% where his loyalties lie, and it feels as though this will be a trend that continues well into the future on this show. So long as it means that Barrowman gets a lot of screen time, we really don’t care how vague his intentions are.
