Now that the finale of “Ink Master” has finally settled in, we are ready for our very last CarterMatt “Ink Master” podcast of season 6. This finale was an hour and a half, full of drama, had a surprise winner and a very strange moment involving the judges and Matt O’Baugh’s master canvas that fans are fairly upset about.
Jessa and Bart will be talking about Dave Kruseman’s win this season. While he created one bad ass back piece (there’s no doubt about how amazing it is), there have been many that feel that he got a bit of a free ride this season and shouldn’t have made it to the finale at all, let alone win. Dave Navarro has said before that it doesn’t really matter how you get to the end, just that you produce your best when you are at the end, and this is the situation we are facing with Kruseman.
There is also the twist that left many fans, and Matt O’Baugh, struggling with. Why have Matt do a 35 hour master canvas piece, only to not judge it at all and have his entire fate rest on what is basically a 6 hour flash challenge? We get that Spike wants America’s vote to have meaning, and in that regard they could’ve just made it that the winner of the 6 hour piece would win the $10,000, but not be guaranteed a spot in the final two.
Lastly, we will be talking about season 7 and the half all-stars cast that will be coming back. We were wondering why St. Marq was playing up this villain archetype through out the finale, but once he was announced as returning next season we understood. Really, we liked St. Marq better as an ego driven master more so then this angry villain lashing out at everyone. Also we have Sarah Miller back in the fold, along with Sausage, Jime Litwalk and a host of other fan favorites.
