‘Arrow’ season 4, episode 2 video: Willa Holland on Thea’s journey, becoming Speedy

Speedy -Prior to “Arrow” airing the second episode of season 4 on Wednesday, they have uploaded a new video featuring one of the latest heroes entering the fray in Willa Holland.

As she explains, the journey for Thea Queen to become Speedy was not something that happened overnight. She says that she was told from the beginning that she would eventually make her way into becoming a costumed hero, but it was mostly a question of when. The timing here worked out wonderfully for her, given the fact that she had this long emotional journey to show how she ended up in this particular position.

Holland also explains how she has trained in archery extensively over time, and seems overall satisfied with the direction of her character. What we do know for now is that this is not going to be a particularly easy journey for her, given the fact that she went through addiction, capture, and even death at one point before being thrown into the Lazarus Pit.

Speaking of the Pit, this is a part of Thea’s long-term story this season as she has to come to terms with some of her demons, and the fact that being dead changed her. She no longer seems to have that switch of when to stop fighting, and her sense of morality is somewhat clouded. She’s not a villain by any means, but it does appear as though she has developed a certain degree of tunnel vision when she is out on the job fighting crime.
