‘Gotham’ season 2, episode 5 preview: What’s next for Ben McKenzie, cast in ‘Scarification’

When we first read the synopsis below for next Monday’s new episode of “Gotham,” our first reaction was surprise that Theo Galavan and Oswald Cobblepot were already joining forces. However, as we have since figured out, this is far more complicated than it seems on paper. While these two men may have somewhat shared missions, the motives behind them are completely different. Oswald has felt a vulnerability for the first time since becoming the “King” of the city, and that is something fairly fun to watch.

Now, let’s get to sharing that synopsis in the event you have not seen it yet:

“Galavan and Penguin join forces with a dangerous family in Gotham. Then, as the rivalry between the Waynes and the Galavans resurfaces, Gordon struggles to maintain order in the city.”

For the most part, we’re not going to say that the promo below is the most revealing in the world … even though it did a few things in particular that we really liked. For one, Theo seems to be really targeting Bruce Wayne, knowing the sort of weight the family name brings. This is someone who so far, has been fairly pitch-perfect when it comes to his plan. When things started to get out of line with Jerome, he made sure to do away with him. He’s also got that Mayor campaign running smoothly so far, and there are few obstacles in his way.
