‘Survivor Cambodia: Second Chance’ rankings: How Tasha Fox, Andrew Savage have found power on Angkor
The Angkor tribe on “Survivor Cambodia: Second Chance” is a hot mess. There’s no other way of looking at it. They’re stuck on a terrible camp, have very little food, and it doesn’t look like the chances of them avoiding tribal council moving into the next new episode are particularly high.
So who is in the best position to move forward in this game if or when this tribe has to go back to tribal? We’re ranking the three tribes separately this week, and focusing primarily on strategy, challenge ability, alliances, and the all-important threat level that is huge in these sorts of seasons.
5. Woo Hwang – In an ordinary season, it would not make sense to get rid of someone pre-jury who is not only a challenge asset, but also someone who is fiercely loyal to any given alliance. The problem is that Abi-Maria may be once again in the position of swing vote, and after he has voted against her twice (plus Woo not really having much of a strategic game), things aren’t looking good for him.
4. Jeff Varner – It makes more sense to get rid of a guy in Varner who is a known schemer, but therein lies the problem: He’s a gamer! He will probably figure out a way to weasel himself out of another tricky situation just as he did this past episode, but he really better hope for another switch-up at 14.
3. Andrew Savage – If there is some sort of swing and someone from Bayon goes home, it’s more than likely Savage. He’s a bigger threat down the road, and not just in challenges. He’s also the sort of guy who can successfully unite a large alliance, and with him gone people will splinter off and go in different directions. (While he’s an alliance threat down the road, we really credit Tasha more than him for getting the two of them out of a messy situation.)
2. Abi-Maria Gomes – Sure, the odds of Abi winning the game are not the best, but she certainly has a good chance of making it really far. The only reason that we see everyone coming together and voting her out Wednesday is if everyone starts to think that they don’t need her … but both Jeff and Tasha seem very invested in having her as a number.
1. Tasha Fox – Tasha killed it going into the last tribal council, pulling in Abi-Maria and showing her that there is a new way to play the game. While it’s easy to imagine Abi switching sides again depending on what happens at camp, Savage is more of an obvious target than her. She has done an excellent job in just three episodes.
