ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 8 spoilers: Stana Katic’s Beckett finds a new rival
While Monday night’s new episode of “Castle” seems to be focusing in part on a certain piece of Castle mythology (namely one of his favorite authors being found dead), we’ve got some casting news today that should be particularly appealing to many of you who are major Beckett fans out there.
According to a new report from TVLine, Kris Polaha of “Ringer” and “Life Unexpected” fame has been cast in a recurring role as Caleb Brown, a described “idealistic” public defender who will be in opposition to Stana Katic’s character on a number of occasions. One of the questions that we are left to ask here is whether or not the people he is defended are those he believes to be innocent, or those he just wants to “help” by means of furthering his own career.
Another important question? Whether or not this character is in any way tied to the mysteries surrounding the entire season for Beckett so far. We have explored a little bit of this mythology so far, but it is still clear that there is some further ground to cover. This story is going to pick up at some point over the weeks ahead; at the moment, though, it appears that the next two episodes are going to have some sort of procedural element to them.
We’ll give you a review of Monday night’s new episode of “Castle” later tonight, since we imagine that it is going to be a fun one, and something that will remind us more of why we enjoy this series to begin with.

Now I see they are bringing in amother foil for Beckett. Hope the writers weren’t lying to again and she will have an affair with this guy. The way the writers are going they will have a divorce and then reunite sometime later what slap that would be.

Well I’m finding out that we will be suffering from delay, delay, delay as lack of progress on the most important event of the season and, arguably, the series will probably not be resolved this season unless there is no season 9 on which case it may be resolved in 08×22.
I’ve about had enough “fun” episodes I want some serious, hard to solve crimes that will require both Castle and Beckett to solve. I want them to get reunited before the fall hiatus because there may not be any season after that. Above all else come to your senses that there is absolutely nothing that has been done so far this season that could not have been done with Castle and Beckett together. Do your job!!!

Buddy,
I certainly agree , The writers need to do their job, but as you say it appears that they will drag this story line out all season or until the show is getting ready to be cancelled. To bad they thought they could rewind the series to season 1-2 terrible .

It’s all “fun.” Hollywood writers seem to think that a the break up of a marriage is lots of fun. Lots of comic incidents to go along with that. Except for the older demographic, which makes up the bulk of the audience, because they’ve seen what it does in real life. Not as many laughs as you might think.

Jim I agree if you look at the demographic who watches Castle , it show sthat they have lost alot of fans for the direction they have taken . Not to long ago Castle was in the top 30 Favorite shows now they have dropped to #54 below NCIS LA. Great going writers.

Look at the numbers from S8 so far–the lowest audience of the entire series–and tonite’s 804–and the entire story arc–wont be any better. It would have been better if the showrunners would have listened to the fans..but they would never do that.
