‘American Idol XV’ spoilers: Kanye West … auditions?
It’s been a long time since we have had any particularly enormous news when it comes to “American Idol,” but there is a reason for that: The show has been filming auditions and other parts of the process. The fifteenth and final season is premiering early next year, and it looks like someone at Fox is looking to bring some more star power to the proceedings.
How else do you explain Kanye West “auditioning” for the show? In a post on her official Instagram page, Kanye’s wife Kim Kardashian posted an image of Kanye performing in front of the judges. We imagine that this is just a silly little moment to add to one of the audition shows in hopes to get more people to watch.
If there has been a major weakness to this competition over the past year or two, it is a lack of that notoriety and some of that face-time that it used to have as one of the biggest and best singing shows on TV. Knowing the last three winners of the show is something that only a devoted fan will remember, since none of them are currently hitting home runs on the radio. (Granted, Nick Fradiani has not released a debut album just yet.)
There is no firm premiere date yet for the final season, but we anticipate at the moment that it will probably start in January. In addition to that, we expect that the show is also going to support a familiar format, with there being live and results shows crammed into a single two-hour block.
