‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5 spoilers: Zelena will become the Wicked Witch again

Just in case you were wondering if Zelena was ever going to revert back to her most-notorious form on “Once Upon a Time” season 5, we feel like we’ve now got for you a pretty clear answer: Without a doubt.

In a post on Twitter, co-creator Adam Horowitz showed off a look from behind at Rebecca Mader’s character, who clearly seems to be getting back into full Wicked Witch mode. That means a heck of a lot of time getting all of that makeup on to take part in a scene. She is clearly outdoors, but the question here is where she is. Is this somewhere in Storybrooke or Camelot? Our superficial take is that it is the latter, and maybe she ends up playing a part in what happens to get Emma on her way to being the full-on Dark Swan. However, that is just speculation for speculation’s sake.

What we do feel is this: If you are going to make Made into a series regular, you may as well make her Wicked Witch as wicked as possible in the process. This is why we are probably happy to see the show going all-out here rather than playing it safe. We know that Zelena’s one of the most-hated characters among fans, but isn’t that kind of the point? She’s not the sort of person you are really meant to cheer for.

Given that production is typically several episodes ahead of where the show is in the present, we anticipate seeing Zelena in her famous makeup at some point in November. There will be many adventures and hardships before then.
