‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5, episode 3 preview: Can Captain Hook, Emma come together?

Moving into Sunday night’s “Once Upon a Time” episode, it is fairly clear that we are going to see some harsh times coming for Captain Hook and Emma Swan. We certainly felt this way all the more after watching the promo below for next week’s new episode.

Emma now knows what it will take to remove Excalibur from the stone: Someone heroic! However, can she get anyone to trust her in her present state? This is where Captain Hook enters the fray, and their story is going to be at the center of Sunday night’s new episode entitled “Siege Perlious.” We imagine that a back-and-forth between these two characters is required to set the stage as far as tension goes, and we’re going to see a pirate very conflicted. Does he love Emma? Sure, and that will make it hard to resist some of the temptation that is flying right at him.

By the time we make it to the conclusion of this episode, we’re going to get a chance to see just if Emma develops any allies, and what the true mettle of Hook is at this point. Is he really fighting for the good guys, or on the same side as Emma regardless of her alliance? This is something that is going to take a little bit of time to figure out in full, and this is just a start of this story. The first two episodes have been necessary in setting the dynamic up.
