‘The Flash’ season 2 spoilers: Michael Ironside enters the picture in ‘Family of Rogues’

One of the excellent things about “The Flash” season 1 was that it did more than just establish itself as a fantastic series creatively; it also got the attention from the public to attract a fantastic roster of guest stars! How else do you explain getting Michael Ironside on this show as Leonard Snart’s father? The Captain Cold family reunion has to be a hoot, given that you’ve got Leonard, a mastermind for a father, and then also a sister in Lisa who has a knack for causing trouble in her own right.

The fact that the upcoming October 20 episode entitled “Family of Rogues” features Cold in a precarious position is something that could be fascinating as the show tries to add further complexity to this character before “Legends of Tomorrow.” The twist of course here is that, at least in this episode, any vulnerability that we see from him could be quickly undone. The synopsis below is additional proof of this:

“When Barry (Grant Gustin) and the team find out Captain Cold (guest star Wentworth Miller) has been kidnapped, they form an uneasy alliance with his sister, Lisa (guest star Peyton List).  However, Barry feels double-crossed when he finds out Snart is working with his father, Lewis Snart (guest star Michael Ironside) on a heist. Meanwhile, Joe (Jesse L. Martin) is faced with a difficult decision.”

Remember that in one way or another, we are building eventually towards a story that will give us a crossover event with “Arrow” like no other, which will in turn be used to help launch the new show featuring Miller, Dominic Purcell, Brandon Routh, and so many others.
